What a Weekend

There are a lot of fun things in store for the weekend.  The weather is going to be great(mid 70’s) but the skies will be cloudy.  The good news is that the rain isn’t suppose to start until Sunday night after the kite festival.

Saturday there is an event at the University of Texas called explore UT.  All of my middle school kids are going via bus.  It looks like a lot of people are going to this.  I found a few things that Noah and Cooper should love:  fossil find, make a pet rock, Giant operation board game, plus some face painting and musical chairs with cookie organs.  That should be fun.  Basically it is a big open house for UT.

Sunday we have the kite festival!  We had so much fun last time we went and I’m sure Cooper will get to enjoy it even more now that he is old enough to make his own kite.  After the festival we are going to the Hula Hut for dinner.  I’m really excited to try that place out as it is run by the same people who make my fave mexican here, Chuys.  The Hula Hut is a mexican polynesian restaurant.  YUM and they have a playground for the kids to play on while we eat and be merry.  This is on Lake Travis too so we get beautiful views.  I’ve never been there so this should be fun.

I’m guessing we are going to have some really tired babies, oops I mean big boys, at the end of the day.  Bed time should be a breeze.

I haven’t watched Lost yet so my post will come soon.

I have been watching GMA and for the last few weeks they have been doing a special on the best mac and cheese and now I am obssessed with making mac and cheese for dinner tonight.  Of course I am going to add a Texan flare to it!!!!

These are the pictures from tha party/picnic we had in front of the house

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A big congrats to Al and Jessica.  And to Chris and Marty.

First a big Congrats To Chris and Marty on the birth of their daughter Zoella.  Mom and dad are doing fine or at least fine for first time parents.  I have talked to Chris once since the Jan. 30th birth and then she took a nap.  I remember those days.  Enjoy the time guys it goes by way too quickly(although due to the lack of sleep it feel like forever).

Secondly congrats to Al and Jess for selling their house!  I know the market is tough but you did it and did it without losing much.  You have to show me how to do it when we are ready to sell ours.  It was fun having you guys as neighbors for the whole 4 months we lived there.  But we were friends for much longer than that.  We met Al and Jess when we first saw the lot for sale in Milford.  They were out in their yard two houses down from our lot and we struck up a conversation there.  They were from out of town and didn’t know many people.  From there we went to Michigan games and showed them around town.  I know they liked the friends they made here but didn’t want to stay.  Well Good luck back in DC and I can’t wait to see you guys again.  Congratulations again and have a safe move.

Oh and I am still going to post a pic of the party but Gregg wouldn’t let me on that computer yesterday.  Too busy working.  We got the plans for our JJ play equipment.  It looks so cool I can’t wait to see it built.  I’ll get to the pics soon.

Hot One

Today is going to be a hot one.  It is suppose to get to 87 degrees.  89 is the record.  This warm front has bee great.  We got lots of yard work done last weekend.  Gregg and I can’t move so well today but the yard looks great.

We had lots of fun last night at the picnic.  A big thank you to everyone who brought something and Ms. Shanna for tending the grill like “good woman folk.”  The kids had a blast.  It is so sad when they don’t want to leave.

This weekend is going to be fun too.  This Sunday is the Zilker Kite Festival.  We went to this last time we lived here and had a blast!  Oddly enough I was just wondering when this was going to happen and viola, yesterday I heard the date on the radio.  The park is huge and there are soooo many kites.  I’m excited that Cooper will be big enough to enjoy all the treats and festivities.

I will post pictures of the party this afternoon.

Happy Birthday

Last night we went out for Mike and Gregg’s birthday.  We hit the Domain and did the usual drinks by the fire at the Domain and then late night happy hour at the Daily Grill.  It was a great time and did anyone notice how many plates we had accumulated by the end of the night.  Holy cow!  It’s so nice to get out again.  As most of you know I am not a home body.  I have always been on to get out and do something.  It seems I had gotten into a rut.  When we were in Philly we started to get out of the rut.  WE would take a trip almost every weekend.  We went to Balitmore(fun aquarium) a few times, Washington DC, dowtown Philly(great zoo and museums), Atlantic City and tried once to go to NY.  Then we got to Austin and things kind of slowed down again.   We’ve been to the hill country, winter festival etc.  but I would like to explore more.  I also enjoyed our time out with friends without our little angels.  We are getting ready to do more of both.  We found 3 new baby sitters so we should be covered now LOL.

Today we are having friends over to celebrate Gregg and Mike’s birthday again.  WE are having a little happy hour on the path.  It’s a beautifull day for it too.  It’s going to be 78 or so.  Tomorrow it is suppose to be 80 something.

Well I need to get out into the yard and finish my gardening and lay woodchips.  It’s almost time to put the hummingbird feeders out.  Woo hoo!!!!!!

Have a good day and hopefully I will have some pics of our fun day.

Lost 2/21

Well there isn’t as much to speculate about but it was still fun.  It was nice to see what happened to Kate when she got back.  We also got to hear about the “story” of the crash.  I wonder who the 8 people who made it were and the two of that 8 that died.

I knew the child was going to be Aaron.  It just seemed obvious that there wasn’t enough time for her to have been pregnant, given birth and lost the baby weight in the time it would have taken them to get a trial started.  Plus Jack was still in tact.

I’m REALLY worried about what happens to Claire.  It has been mentioned that “you never got over the Claire.” but what on Earth happened to her.  I thought Charlie gave his life because Desmond said it would mean her and her baby would be rescued by a helicopter.  Remember though that every tarot card reader ran away from Claire when she was pregnant.  They did not like what they saw when they looked into her.  I guess that was a premonition.

Mile’s situation didn’t shed too much light.  OK there is a big guy out ther hunting Ben down and spending lots of money to do it.  What on EArth did Ben do.  I thought he was always on that island since he was a child.  I want to say he is a rogue spy still that has access to all the things you would imagine a super covert spy would have….aliases(passports), differing currencies, dossiers on anyone, mind game screwing etc.

OK well that is enough for now I may add on to this but I need to get back to work.

Beautiful Day

Oh I love Fridays!!!!!!!!!!  For one I have the day off and secondly the kids go to school.  That leaves the rest of the day for me, Lost, and Jungle Java.  We put a desk in our master bedroom and I have turned it into my office.  I have my little desk in my bay window cubby so I can look out.  I have one GREAT view from my office.  When I look up I see beautiful Egrets drying their wings on the side of the lake on hole 7.  Sometimes I see some cute little duck butts wailing around as they try to get to something at the bottom of the lake.  Oh and then I get back to work.  The view is a big distraction.  I might have to draw the blinds soon before I notice that it is sunny and 70 and I will want to skip out on my JJ duties.

I went to my first Pampered Chef party last night.  I know hard to believe.  I love cooking so much but any one I knew that did Pampered Chef stopped doing it when I met them.  It w as lots of fun and I bought a few pieces.  I got to meet some other people from the neighborhood too.  Shannon of course went and was a big help as she had sold Pampered Chef before and this was Katie’s first time.  I also met a ballerina from the Austin Ballet.  Oh and I also met 3 babysitters yesterday.  Two girls I caught getting off the high school bus in the neighborhood. and one girl from last night.  I will have to have these girls come over and meet the boys.  Noah already liked the older girls from the bus stop.

Wow so we made our reservations to come back to Michigan for our JJ training.  We will be back April 21-May8th.  This is nice as it is also at Cooper’s birthday so we can have a big family get together.  I know Gregg and Michelle wanted to have a big get together for all the listeners also when we come back.  He was thinking one West side and one East side.  Perhaps Novi the 26th and Royal Oakish the 3rd.  If you have any ideas of places of cities by all means respond here or email gregg.  After all we want the party to be where you will want to come(ps. I love Duggan’s in RO)

So we should get our final MEP plans back by Monday and off to the Permit process then.  In worker time I am thinking we will start construction March 12th ish(2 1/2 weeks).  Which puts us finishing June 1-15th window.  Noah’s bday is the 12 so I am hoping we can have a party for him on the 14th.  In the mean time there is so much to do so I should really get off this computer and get working.  I will post a new Lost blog entry later.

Oh and I am also going to a meeting tonight about a charter school opening here in Round Rock that will have the IB program.  Is there anyone here from Michigan who goes to Country Day, Cranbrook, Andover, IA or even Lone Pine Elementary?  How about anyone involved in it in Round Rock at Westwood, Grisham, Anderson Mill.  I know nothing but good things about the program in Michigan so I am very excited about this meeting.  It is all the buzz in the school that I am tutoring in.

OH and a bigggggggggg HUG to Curly.  I saw on Carol’s Blog that Colin took a header into a wall/basketball pole.  Hey but blue stitches are really cool and you have to love that the ER waiting time is only 7 minutes here!  Take care sweetie!!

1st Day

OK so today was the first day of my new job.  I’m so lucky to have gotten this job but I believe they feel they are even luckier for having me.  The prinicpal gave me free reign to design my own plan.  The woman before me apparently hadn’t done too much.

My first day I designed/tweaked the schedule, assessed the test(meap like) results from last year for each student and designed an individual plan for each student.  They were extremely pleased.  I streamlined the program.  They were paying me $25 an hour to sit on my tush for 2 1/2 hours in the middle of the day.  I told them I would rather go home for lunch for 2 hours and come back for the last 1 1/2 hours(I live 10 minutes away).  I got them from 40 hours a week to 20 hours and I actually improved the  services I am providing for the students.  I saved them money and am providing better services for the children.  So my hours are 8-11 and 1:30-3 Mon. and Thurs. and 8-11 and 1:30-3:30 Tues. and Wed.!  Woohoo Fridays off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fridays will now be my Jungle Java work days.  I still work on it daily but obviously I can’t use the phone during school.  I also get to eat lunch with my boys on Tues. and Thurs. and my big boy Mon and Wed.  LOL

Congratulations to Sarah for braving a sicker than sick weekend and still passing her insurance mumbo jumbo test(I try to sound like I know what I am talking about).  Gotta love the Vicks Vapor rub but only above the belly button!!!!!!!!!!!

WE are planning another night out with the Path at the Domain.  Late night happy hours and outside fireside chats at Joe DiMaggio’s.  We may have quite a crowd going this Sat.  Carol is going to have a parking space with her name on it with how many times she has been there this week.  Hopefully your spot is outside of Tiffany’s.

Time to go to bed.  I get to work tomorrow!  (:

Nothing

Well the scary skies did absolutely nothing.  I was expecting hail and the such but nothing happened.  This morning is sunny and there are already tons of people on the golf course.

I guess we will do the park and lunch……Friday’s or Waterloo Ice House?  Waterloo is the place with a park and bottomless mimosas until 2.  HHHMMMMM
