SOOOOO Tired

Poor Noah.  Prior to this picture he was outside running around and playing.  We came in for dinner and I noticed that dinner time was very quiet.  I looked at the table and there was Noah chewing with his eyes closed and his head was bobbing.  I couldn’t find the camcorder or the flip recorder so all I have is this picture.  He hasn’t done anything like this since he was a tiny baby.  It has been 13 hours and he is still sleeping.  AAAWWWWW(he slept for 14 hours)

Easter in Texas

Well, almost Easter.  Today Teravista held their easter egg hunt.  It was so cute to see so many kids all dressed up.  They had an easter bunny, balloon blowing clown, egg hunt and the cutest petting zoo.  Noah still has a dislike of farm animals.  Cooper loved it.  He pet the chicks, piglets, ducks, bunnies, goats, sheep and ducklings.  He fed the sheep and goats and was not afraid of them at all.  What a brave little man.  The egg hunt was nicely planned and went off without a hitch.  I was torn betwen putting Cooper in the 0-2 group or 3-4.  I’m glad I left him in the 0-2 because he is such a little pokey guy.  It took him a while to walk around and find 10 eggs.  On the other hand I think Noah had his 10 eggs in record time.

Afterwards we took the boys out to lunch.  We tried a new place in Georgetown called McAllister’s Deli.  The food was good but the authenticity can be summed up by the response I got when I asked for a pickle.  She said they don’t sell pickles but if I wanted a spear she would give me one.  It was a mushy pickle.  OK it was no Zingerman’s but what is.  They did have a great baked potato offering.  I got the 2 pounder potato.  I’m pretty sure it had everything on it.

Then the boys and I walked around the shopping area and stumbled into a Cold Stone Creamery and had to get some.  Noah got the cotton candy ice cream(I want the blue ice cream) with the gummi bears.  He told everyone that walked by how much he loved his ice cream and what exactly it was.  Such a social little guy.

On a side note I would like to tell Shannon that I have banned your comments from the message board.  You are free to continue to read my blog but your comments will go directly to a spam folder.  This is a website for family and friends and you are obivously neither.  I find your comments amusing and borderline pathetic but overall it is tiring.  I’m glad you are happy in Sterling Heights and Michigann.  My deepest wish for you is that you find some happiness in your life.

OK this is wrong.  It says there are zero people with my maiden name, Champe.  OK I can understand that there may be 0 Nicole Champe’s but to say I have no family members with the last name Champe is just wrong.

It’s been a while!!!!!!!!!!

The weather here has been amazing this week.  It is suppose to be 92 today.  So needless to say we have been outside playing a lot.  Guess that is why I haven’t been posting this week.  We’ve been playing some street ball, football and riding the bikes, and that was just the adults.  LOL

The birds here are amazing.  Such an eclectic group.  Of course we have those annoying birds.  Up north we called them Blue Jays and Crows.  Down here they are called Grackles(sp?).  They have an annoying peeping and crackling sound.  But then there are the other birds.  Last year when we lived here I had a book on Texas birds.  There was still a lot of undeveloped land(no apts., not outlet mall, no hospital) so we had a lot more birds.  We still have a lot of water fowl because of the number of ponds near our part of the golf course.  They are wonderful to watch, especially when they dry their wings.  I don’t see the scissortail flycatcher as much any more but my new treat is this cute bird that was perched outside my bedroom window this morning.  Ok so it wasn’t so cute when I was trying to sleep but it was 8 am.  I have to find a book today to identify him but he had the most beautiful song.  He had MANY songs.  It was amazing to listen to him change it up.  He had over ten different whistles and they were all very pretty.  When I discover who he was I will let you know but he was a nice find this am.

I haven’t watched Lost or Top Chef yet so I can’t comment on any of that yet.  Check back later.  Watching Top Chef makes me so hungry so I will have to do that on a full tummy.

Jungle Java update:  They are working on the building and getting everything ready for the big job.  It shouldn’t bee long.  I’m hoping we could get the permits by the end of next week but who knows with Friday being a holiday.  In the mean time there is lots of work to be done.  We went to one of the inflatable play spaces yesterday and when Gregg saw it he smiled.  There were TONS of kids there.  Spring Break is a good time for the business.  (:

This weekend is the Easter egg hunt in our community.  Noah and Cooper are all set.  I think Noah thinks he has to hide the eggs.  Wait until he learns he gets to find and eat the candy.  I think we may also go to the rodeo.  I’m not sure on the timing of that.  Saturday is the last day.  At the end of the month we are going to Houston to see the last spring season game.  They are playing the Tigers.  We have a fun weekend planned for that.

I’m going to learn Spanish this year.  I’ve already taken a semester in Philly but this time I am going to try the Rosetta Stone or Babel program that the Library allows you access to.  It’s nice because you can do it at home over the internet.  There are many languages that they offer so who knows, maybe I will try another one or brush up on my French.

Now that I am back in the teaching game I have been thinking about getting my PhD.  I know I don’t need it and if I get it I might not be employable but it would be nice.  I’ve also thought about maybe just getting another masters in something fun like music history or art history.  It’s going to take me more than two years to get this masters as I am also going to be busy with the Jungle Java.  The Spanish class I took last year reminded me how much I loved college and learning.  I love the interaction with an instructor who has so much insight and so much to share.  There are plenty of Universities to go through here as well!!  (:

Baseball

The boys and I went to the open house at Dell Diamond.  The kids had a blast.  There were bouncy inflatables and a big inflatable slide.  That was one of their favorite things.   We also got to play baseball on the field.  Noah loved throwing the ball around.  Cooper just loved rolling around and throwing himself around.  The older kids got to take batting practice and field balls.  There were lots of stands with fun things to do.  The kids got to make lots of crafts and fun things.  I will add some pics in a bit.  The kids got very excited about the up coming season.  They don’t even care who is playing they just love to run around in right field.  Oh I can’t wait for the fun nights ahead!  Nothing better than getting a gang together and letting the kids chow on cotton candy and run around.  Great times!!!!!!!!!!!

Jungle Java Update

We got our final blueprints and they went to the city for inspection yesterday.  If nothing is wrong(knock, knock) we should get our building permits in 2-3 weeks.  Tim, our construction guy, is very ready to get started.

We even got the plans for our playscape.  We are still trying to design the perfect playscape and I think we are there now.  It should be ready for building by Monday.  That takes a while because they build it in Florida at the warehouse then they take it apart and ship it to Texas and rebuild it here.

Gregg has been busy ordering the kitchen equipment and getting all the furniture/fixtures ordered.  The acct. taught me how to use Quick Books so now I know how to do our books.

I am soooooo excited about getting started.  It’s like being a child and waiting for Christmas morning.

Noah Bean

Oh my sweet Noah bean is growing up.

Today we met his principal of his new elementary school.  The school will be finished in the next couple of months and he will start there this August.  Noah met some new friends at the event at the club house.  Some of the kids were from his Stepping Stone School in the sub but then we met others too.  WE even met another parent who went to Michigan.  So naturally we started talking and they only live a block away.  She went to U of M and he went to UT.  LOL  It was nice to see Noah make new friends.  He is not shy at all.  He just walks right up to people and says hi and starts to join right in.

Oh but I do love bed time.  Normally I put Cooper down but tonight I thought I would try Noah.  We read a book then talked for a while.  That is when I got all gooey.  I was sitting there listening to him talk and I was stroking his heel.  His soft soft skinned heel.  His callous free heel.  Oh my baby hasn’t been walking around a lot but one day his heel will bear the scars of much walking.  He will be a grown boy with his own friends that I won’t know much about.  He will have his private thoughts and private times and I will be odd man out.  One day he will meet a woman and I will be the odd woman out.  He will start a family and I will be the old lady looking in,  examing each grandchild and noticing how each part of him/her reminds me of those lost memories of my Noah.

OK but first I must savor every moment of my Noah Bean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is Going On?

Every time I watch TV I see that it is snowing in Michigan.  I remember Gregg used to always joke that the lakes are low but this can’t be true any more.  This has got to be record snowfall.

Last night Gregg and I caucused.  Well I caucused and he conventioned.  I don’t know.  They have different names and rules for each group.  Only 6 republicans showed up and were heckled by the crowd of 148 dems.  I laughed, who would have ever thought it would be embarassing to admit being a republican in Texas.  The teasing was all in good fun and I’m sure you know Gregg gave it right back.  He offered to sell his vote again.  I’m still not sure what he did but we had to sign in and say who we wanted to vote for.  Then they counted the results and found that 69% voted for Obama and 31% voted for Clinton.  That meant that we had to break down the delegates.  Obama got 9 and Clinton got 5.  We divided up into the two camps and we elected the 9 people to be the delegates to represent us in Williamson County.  Then that was it!  Simple enough.

Gregg sat in the republican room the whole time.  I wondered how hard it was to sign 6 people in and vote.  Turns out Gregg gets to be a delegate.  Then some Ron Paul guy came in and started proposing resolutions.  That is what Gregg had to listen to for 1 1/2 hours.

So that was our caucusing in a nut shell.  I see Clinton won the primary but last I saw Obama was winning in the caucuses.  Which means only that Clinton won 2/3 of the votes and Obama won 1/3(caucus).  Something about when a Dem votes in the primary it is only 2/3 of a vote and the caucus is the other 1/3.  So if you don’t go to your caucus you wasted 1/3 of your vote.

I don’t know who designed these rules.  But it sure was fun.

Tis Official

I am a certified teacher now in Colorado, Texas, and Michigan.  Woohoo only one or two more states and I will have covered any state that I may move to in the future.  Never hurts to have your options open.  Always wanted to be certified in Montana and the US Virgin Islands, then I will be done.  The next move out of state won’t be for at least 10 years.

Lost 2/28

I’m glad we finally got more story on Desmond.  I have always liked him.  I guess his shipwrecking would explain how he got the power to see into the future but why then didn’t the airplane passengers experience the same fate.  Unless they will blame his future seeing on the blast of electromagnetic waves he suffered when he had to turn the key.

I wonder if he knew what it meant when Penny said that she got Charlie’s message.  Does he even remember Charlie and what Charlie had said.  I know Sayeed does but I don’t know if he was privy to the conversation.  Did Desmond have speaker phone on?  Now they know for sure it isn’t Penny’s boat.  I’m guessing they already knew that with the warm welcome they received on the boat.

I won’t go over the obvious in this post but I will say I had a thought…………

When Daniel looked at his book and said that Desmond Hume would be his constant I realized almost everyone there has a constant from the past to the future.  Most of these people from Oceanic 815 have a connection to one another in some way.  Now whether or not they know they have the connection is another thing.  It will be interesting.  Then again there would have to be a problem for them to need a constant.  Sayeed managed the trip just fine.

I have a headache so I won’t write anymore but if you have any thougths feel free to email me or leave a comment.  I may add more later.
