BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today is a beautiful day.  This is why I love Texas.  It’s warm(mid 70’s) and blue sky!!!!!!!!!!!  The golf course is packed today.  Noah and I are out back playing frisbee(coops inside addicted to Mario Kart).  Even with this great weather Jungle Java has been CRAZY busy.  Gotta love xmas break.  We are closing early tomorrow and going to prepare for our NYE party.  We have a few close friends and kids coming to the JJ for a little soiree.

I can’t believe it is already the end of the year.  What a year it has been.  It’s so nice to have some normalcy back in our life and to be in charge of our own destiny once and for all.  There is only one other place that I might want to live in the future(not near) and that would be Boulder.  However, I don’t know if I could ever go back to snow again.  Moving was hard the first time but I have liked something about everywhere we have been.  Of course Austin is the best.  Noah even has the moving bug.  The silly boy asked me last week if we could move.  I asked him where and he didn’t really have any idea except maybe closer to his school.  LOL.  Mr. Dean offered to set Noah up in Atlanta with him and Lex until he found a place of his own!  Noah might almost go for that!

OK now I am just rambling and should get back to playing frisbee.  Noah threw it over the fence and we have to ask a golfer to give it to us.

I hope you all have a Happy New Year filled with many great adventures!!!!!!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

OK to start off with I am sorry I haven’t posted anything in a while.  I’ve been a tad bit busy.  With that in mind this is your xmas card.  Ya, we didn’t send any out this year(sorry Dan and Stephanie)

The Henson’s have been busy this year.  I won’t make this a long year in review card.  If you want to know what we have been doing read the last zillion posts.  We have been working the Jungle Java and I have been teaching in the local middle school.  Noah is enjoying kindergarten at his new school and Cooper loves his pre-school.

This Christmas we got a Wii for the boys and they love it.  Of course we got Mario Kart and the sport games.  Noah loves the sports and Cooper loves the kart.  They couldn’t love the same game.  Momma has been enjoying it too and thanks to Great Grandma’s gift we also got another remote and a game.  Thank you Great G-ma!!!!!!!!!!!!  Your hand made letter is in the making.  We don’t have rock band or the fit game.  I don’t even think the boys could play it(I can’t).  We had a nice time decorating cookies, enjoying a xmas eve fest and of course xmas brunch.  THank you Mandy, Sarah and Carol.

This week we are planning a fun New Year’s Eve at the JJ with some close friends.  The kids will bring their blankies and we will watch movies and play and of course enjoy the night.

The weather here has been up and down.  Some days in the upper 70’s then WHAM the high is the upper 40’s.  It has been quite intersting in the AM to figure out how to dress!

Everything is great and I don’t have any pics to present but I’m sure one of the featured links on my site will have some pics up soon.

Sorry so short but time to get back to the Wii and help Noah prepare his science project that we are entering in the science fair.

TTFN.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

PS I still haven’t figured out that face book but thanks for all the support.

Baby It’s Cold Outside

OK.  I went back to Michigan this past weekend and can’t figure out why anyone would subject themselves to that.   It was freezing cold.  I was ready for the cold weather but not that ready.  It snowed all day Saturday.  Then came the wind, as if the snow wasn’t bad enough.  I had told my students I was going to Michigan and they were excited about the snow.  I told them it wasn’t all that.  I explained about the wet socks in stuffy boots and how their feet and boots would smell.  Oh but the best was the scraping of the car.  Ahhh the joy of having to scrape snow off the car and windshield.  We have an indoor garage so don’t have to worry too much about that but after my meeting on Saturday I walked out to my car to see snow covering my vehicle.  I had no snow scraper!  I just sat in the car waiting for the car to heat up so that I could put on the defroster to melt the snow and ice off.  Then came the task of using the “blue juice” to spray the windshield clean.  And inevitably the wipers dragged across the windshield prompting me to have to go out into the cold and beat the windshield wipers clear of ice.  AAAHHHH the snow.  Then there is all the salt.  There is salt on the sidewalks you have to get off your shoes or they will ruin and there is the salt on the road.  Now the salt on the road creates quite a nasty and dirty film on the windshield thus prompting you to use more “blue juice.”  Eventually you will run out of “blue juice” at the most inopportune time.  Oh and don’t forget all the salty snow and ice on your shoes.  You have to pound your feet together to get it all of so that your floor mat doesn’t get that nasty salt and water stain.

I have to admit for the first few moments I was inside watching the snow fall I thought it was so pretty, then I had to go out in it.  Snow is nice to watch but not nice to live in.  When I left Sunday morning I was freezing my tush off but by noon I was driving home with my windows rolled down.  On my way home I drove past the front of our subdivision and saw the kids enjoying our winter fest.  The sub has snow made on one of the hills and the kids get to sled down it.  I just drove by laughing and thinking, that is the way I want to see snow…..70 degrees outside and sledding, how perfect.

It’s Official!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Noah is a big boy!  He JUST lost his first tooth.  Such an exciting event here as he was so worried yesterday that there was going to be blood.  LOL this coming from the boy who slammed his head into a corner and had to get 7 stitiches(2 on the inside) and didn’t even whince.  The tooth fairy is coming tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving was a wonderful event.  WE had about 21 people over and I finished everything the minute before everyone got here.  How nice.  I got to sit back and enjoy the day.  I did not take any pictures but Carol did and I thin they are on her website now.  Sorry about your camera, didn’t know it was yours.

Nice cold front coming now.  Man the wind blows here when one comes in.  Was 79 earlier and going to get to 35 for a low soon enough.  Gotta go back inside now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
