WOO HOO
I just talked to my mom and she is on her way. She will be happy when she gets off the plane and sees we have the same temperature that she is used to in Key West. It is finally warm again. The kids were all out playing yesterday and no doubt will be out again. I think I feel a Tuesday Family Fun Night coming on.
We should get a peek at our final plans for the Jungle Java tomorrow. Then the architect will have them put in to Auto cad. We hope to have the plans to the permit offices by Feb. 10th. then 2 weeks to get permit and finally Build out!
I am also all ready to be a substitute teacher. I have to do my final registration then I will get the call. I’m excited to teach again and to do so without any of the headaches that a classroom teacher has. As soon as my mom leaves I will get back into the swing. I’m already stocking my “sub bag.” Should be fun!
We have 3 birthday parties this Saturday(Taggert, Riley, and Colin M.). Then on Sunday we will be hosting the Fairway Superbowl party. Well I think we are calling it the halftime party as Monday is a school day. So we will all drink, eat and be merry until halftime is over. Now I am coming up with the menu. So far I have chicken wings and a pear gorganzola tart to eat and maybe Hurricanes to drink. Even though I love me some champagne I feel that this party calls for something will a little more gusto. Any other drink or food ideas would be greatly appreciated. If I find any good recipes in my Rachel Ray files I will pass them on to you as well. Yum I love to eat!
Hey Niki, I will bring a nacho dip for Sunday if that helps with corn chips it is really easy to make and should be a hit. Please let me know what I can do to help as I am only across the street:) See you Saturday if not sooner.
Yum Yum! If you want to tell me the ingredients I can tell you if it is GF. It doesn’t have to be but I would like to plan accordingly. I LOVE nacho dip. Then again there isn’t much I don’t love!
Easy finger foods I like are:
Mixing a block (8oz.)of cream cheese with green olives. As many or as little olives as tastes good to you and your guests. Mix it all together in a bowl and set it out with cocktail bread. Guests can spread it with a knife onto the bread. You can also make this with black olives too.
Another recipe is to fill up a cookie sheet with cocktail bread. Brush each piece with EVOO (Rachel Ray), then put a a few slices of olives (green or black) on each piece of bread. Then, put Muenster cheese (one slice will cover four peices of the cocktail bread) on top of each piece. Put under the broiler to melt the cheese and they’re ready to eat. Yummy.
Veggie tray with dip (ranch with sour cream)is always good.
For the little ones, (if they’re there) I always found that buying large chocolate or chocolate chip cookies and ice cream and taking two cookies and putting ice cream between them will make them happy. Adults probably won’t pass them over either.
It is cream cheese, salsa and shredded cheese and I will bring the tostito chips. That should be ok right?? Let me know
Great ideas Deb. I’m allergic to wheat but I think the olive thing would be great on my gluten free crackers too. I LOVE olives. My new thing is this Greek olive laced hummus. Oh so yummy.
