Wow
This subbing is kicking my butt. I am exhausted by the end of the day. I remember when my friend Kim first became a teacher. She called me and said now she understands why I used to come home and take a nap after school. Of course I can’t do that now with the boys but I would love to. I have decided to only teach three days a week so today is my last day this week. Woo Hoo!!!!!
I love being able to make my own schedule. We have a lot of Jungle Java business today so I do hope to write after school today.
Have a good one.
If you think subbing is hard just wait until you open your own business! It’s no fun. Good luck.
Actually subbing isn’t hard it is just tiring. I haven’t been in the work force in quite a while. I had a professor who summed up teaching and why it is so tiring the best. A teacher literally has to think MANY thoughts at the same time in a given minute. An example minute while teaching would be……I’m delivering the topic for this particular class, while noticing that Jimmy in the corner is getting antsy as he doesn’t understand the “big” word I just said so now I have to reword what I just said, to seeing that Jane just walked in tardy to class and having to remember to collect yesterday’s assignment from her(cause god knows she won’t remember and when all else fails I will be the one to blame) and go back into the computer and remark her as tardy not absent or her parents will get a call, while also scanning the classroom to detect if there may be trouble brewing, note passing, talking etc.
It would be nice if you could have the perfect classroom where kids always did what they were suppose to and everyone came prepared for class! That just doesn’t happen.
That is just a small example.
I look forward to opening our business. Both of my parents own their own business and I know exactly what I am in store for there. It’s going to be work too but it will be for me and my family and I can think of nothing more fun than working for myself and family.
Thank you for your words of encouragement
Seriously, who are “these” a-holes who continually leave negative and nasty-ass undertone comments…..I only started reading this blog because my husband is a HUGE gregg fan and we are from the Houston area originally and plan on returning within the year….I think you have a lot of spunk and you sound like a great mom, wife, friend, etc…..You guys will do great…..I’m betting “renee” or “shannon” or whoever this whack-job is has a miserable life…..grow up!!!
It is amazing how much these people are always looking out for me. It’s really no big deal to me. Sure it is annoying but I haven’t been happier and I wish everyone could feel that way. Come on back to Texas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love to have ya!!!!!!!!!!! But you need to come to Austin. (:
